Bright Green Bicycle © 1980/2008 Jesse Blevins F# E F# E I have a bright green bicycle, I like to ride it fast all over town, F# E F# E F# Every time I meet a pretty woman, she says she's seen me riding around I go fast, but I'm in no hurry, I just Like to feel the wind rushing through my hair, As I fly down the road I see an old friend, I'll stop and talk a while, I've got time to spare. I like to feel my feet push the pedals 'round, I like to feel my hands on the handlebars, I like to smile and wave at pedestrians, I zig and zag and I watch out for cars. When it rains I wear a bright yellow rainsuit, I like to feel the rain water on my face, I like to laugh and splash through the puddles While people scurry from place to place. When it's winter and the wind is icy cold, I bundle up and jump on my bike and ride. My nose and toes and my fingers tingle, But my legs are pumping so I'm warm inside. To ride at night I have a light on my bicycle, I didn't used to and I learned my lesson hard, He didn't see me and he turned right in front of me, My bike got smashed and my face got scarred. (I wear a helmet now, too) When I approach a car at a stop sign, I wave 'em through when they've got the right-of-way. I only run it when there's nobody coming And I see it's safe to go with no delay. I have a rack on the back of my bicycle with zipper bags and I don't need a car. I can carry my groceries or my laundry, I can even strap on my guitar. I don't worry about no traffic jam, I ride my bike on by the cars in a line, I don't worry about finding a parking space, I lock my bike to a "no parking" sign. I wish you all would get yourselves bicycles, And sell your cars before they make you broke. I'd like to see you smiling as you ride by, And see the sunlight flashing in your spokes. I have a bright green bicycle, I like to ride it fast all over town, Every time I meet a pretty woman, She says she's seen me riding around
